Editing the countdown page

Learn how to customize your webinar’s countdown page.

This article is about the countdown page that comes with the registration page that was introduced in June 2025. Please read this article instead if you’re still using the previous version of the registration page.

Viewers who try to enter the webinar before it starts are shown the countdown page. It shows a larger version of the webinar countdown in the center of the page and automatically redirects people to the webinar once the countdown reaches 5 minutes remaining. It can redirect attendees earlier depending on the time of entry you configured, as explained in this article.

The countdown page uses your registration page as its template, meaning that any elements you’ve added to your registration page will appear on your countdown page by default. However, these elements can be toggled separately from your registration page.

Customization options for the countdown page

Elements that can be toggled

The following parts of your countdown page can be toggled on and off separately from your registration page:

  • Header label: This is the little tag below the banner with the megaphone icon.

  • Share button: The ‘Share’ button below the banner that lets visitors share the registration page.

  • Title: The webinar’s title that appears above the webinar date/time and countdown.

  • Subtitle: The webinar’s date and time.

  • ‘About’ section: The ‘About' section below the countdown.

  • ‘Presented by’ section: The ‘Presented by’ section that shows your webinar team.

  • Organization highlight: The entire organization highlight section that shows your company logo and profile.

  • Organization logo: Specifically the company logo. Toggling this off means your organization description still shows, but without the company logo.

Please note! You can toggle these elements on and off separately, but the text is always the same on both the registration page and countdown page. So, for example, you could include the header label on the registration page but not on the countdown page, but the text is always the same.

The ‘About’ section

The ‘About’ section on your countdown page can contain different text from the ‘About’ section on your registration page. An example usage could be to thank your attendee for signing up for the webinar.

Please note! The ‘About’ section’s header cannot be different between your registration page and countdown page. Only the text within the section can be different.

Editing the countdown page

Opening the countdown page editor

Follow the steps below to open the countdown page editor:

  1. Find your webinar in your webinar overview and click its title

  2. Click the ‘Edit webinar’ button

  3. Go to ‘Webinar’

  4. Go to ‘Countdown page’

  5. Click ‘Customize countdown page’ or mouse over the monitor image and click ‘Customize countdown page’

You’re now in the countdown page editor. Read on to find out how to edit it.

Toggling elements on the countdown page

You can use the sidebar on the left to toggle elements on the countdown page on and off. All of them are enabled by default. Remember that this is separate from the registration page, so toggling something on the countdown page doesn’t toggle it on the registration page.

  1. In the left sidebar, toggle the checkbox next to the element you want to turn on or off

  2. Make sure to click ‘Save changes’ on the top right

Editing the ‘About’ section

The text in your countdown page’s ‘About’ section is separate from your registration page’s ‘About’ section.

Follow these steps to edit the edit the text in the ‘About’ section:

  1. Make sure ‘Show event description’ is toggled on in the sidebar

  2. Write your text in the textbox and use the formatting options where desired

  3. Make sure to click ‘Save changes’ on the top right

  1. Emoji: Insert a chosen emoji into the text.

  2. Header: Insert a header.

  3. Bold: Insert bold text.

  4. Italics: Insert italic text.

  5. Strikethrough: Insert strikethrough text.

  6. Link: Insert a link.

  7. Video: Insert a video or change an existing one. You can also insert videos by pasting the link in the textbox.

  8. Image: Insert an image or change an existing one. You can also insert images by pasting the link in the textbox.

  9. Bulleted list: Insert a bulleted list.

  10. Numbered list: Insert a numbered list.

  11. Quote: Insert a quote.

Variables

A variable is a piece of text, for example {{webinar_title}}, that is replaced with up-to-date data it relates to. In the case of {{webinar_title}}, that would be the title of the webinar the countdown page is for.

The following variables are available for the ‘About’ section on your countdown page. There is no limit to the amount of variables you can add.
