AI Assistant

The AI Assistant is an AI-powered webinar moderator. It helps you manage chat and Q&A in live and automated webinars.

Written by Paula

The AI Assistant can answer questions in Q&A, reply to messages in the public chat, and use live captions from your webinar to provide clear, relevant answers. It responds to viewers’ questions and chat messages, not those from team members.

Each Premium plan includes one free use of the AI Assistant. If you would like to use it more often, it can be purchased as an add-on for Premium plans. The Enterprise plan includes it by default.

Setting up your AI assistant

Agents are set up per webinar. Follow the steps to add an assistant to a webinar.

  1. Open your webinar overview page.

  2. Go to the ‘Webinar AI assistants’ section.

  3. Click ‘Add assistant’.

  4. Enter a name and choose how the assistant should work. For more details about the settings, see 'Configuring your AI assistant'.

  5. Click ‘Save’.

Using your AI assistant during a broadcast

After you add an assistant to your webinar, you can turn it on or off during the broadcast.

To manage your assistant during a broadcast:

  1. Open the ‘Agents’ tab in the right sidebar of the streaming page.

  2. You will see your assistant as a card, showing its name, status, and abilities.

  3. Use the switch on the card to turn the assistant on or off.

Please note: The assistant needs a bit of time to process information, so it may not reply immediately but take a few seconds.

Viewing assistant activity

You can view your assistant’s activity to evaluate its performance, give feedback, and improve it for the next webinar.

To see what your assistant has done:

  1. Click ‘Activity’ on the assistant’s card in the ‘Agents’ tab.

  2. You will see a list of actions. It shows what the assistant responded to and when.

  3. You can give feedback on each response by clicking thumbs up or thumbs down.

Please note: If you want to change the assistant’s settings, click “Guardrails” on the assistant’s card to see its current settings. You will see the confidence level, personality, language, and any rules you have set. To read more about what this means and how to change it, read this article.

What viewers see

Viewers interact with the assistant in the same way they interact with any other team member. In Q&A and public chat, the assistant’s name appears as the responder with the team label.

Please note: Viewers cannot tell that responses are AI-generated. If you want to be transparent about this, choose a name that makes the assistant’s role clear, for example "AI Support" or "Virtual Assistant".
