You’ve just created your WebinarGeek account and the first thing you notice are two webinars you did not create titled ‘My first webinar’ and ‘My first on demand webinar’. Those are your very own demo webinars! We prepare these for you so that you can easily and quickly experience what our tool offers without having to jump through hoops to get started. On the way, you’ll also be able to learn how to work with WebinarGeek!

Demo webinars on a webinar dashboard

Why are there webinars I did not create in my account?

These are demo webinars created automatically for every new WebinarGeek account, meant to allow you to test and experience the capabilities of our tool quickly. It’s accompanied by a virtual tour through the application, teaching you about WebinarGeek, creating and holding webinars in an interactive manner.

Tip! Confident you don’t need a tutorial on the software? Feel free to remove the demo webinars by following the steps under ‘How do I remove the demo webinars from my dashboard?’.

What can I do with the demo webinars?

Anything that you are able to do with “real” webinars can also be done with the demo webinars! Change the settings, customize the pages, create interactions, send emails to subscribers, test the webinars and more. For your convenience, the demo webinars come with a sample of each interaction type: a call-to-action, a poll and a quiz. We recommend following the interactive tour in order to learn quickly and efficiently.

Not to mention that the demo webinars are the simplest way to test out the tool’s capabilities. With no need to create your own webinar, you can try out all of the configuration settings we offer. Test the registration flow with different access settings, play around with the real-time editor, register to your own demo webinar to see what your future viewers will experience, test the webinar with a ‘Dry run’, and more! It can really help you figure out where you want to take your real webinars when the time comes.

Can I use the demo webinars as real webinars?

Yes, but make sure to keep the following in mind:

  • Any webinars created during the trial will have WebinarGeek branding. This is not removed retroactively, meaning that the WebinarGeek branding will remain even after you upgrade to a paid plan.

  • By default, the live demo webinar will be scheduled to take place on the same day as the creation of your WebinarGeek account. If you want to use the demo webinar as a real webinar, you will most likely have to change the date and time for the webinar. You can read how to do that here.

  • The on demand demo webinar will have an availability of two weeks by default. If you want it to be available for longer, you will have to configure the availability period in the webinar wizard. You can read how to do that here.

How do I remove the demo webinars from my dashboard?

There are two steps to take when it comes to removing the demo webinars from your dashboard.

Archiving the webinar

The first step is to archive the webinar. To do this follow the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the demo webinar you wish to archive.

  2. Click on 'View details' and select 'Archive webinar'.

  3. Confirm the resulting popup.

  4. The webinar has been archived!

Archiving the webinar will make the webinar disappear from your webinar dashboard, but the webinar will still exist in your account. If you want the webinar to be removed completely, you will have to delete the webinar.

Deleting the webinar

Before deleting a webinar, you must have archived the webinar first. If you haven’t followed the steps under ‘Archiving the webinar’, please do that before following the steps below.

Now that your webinar has been archived, you can follow the steps to delete the webinar:

  1. Filter the webinars on your webinar dashboard by pressing the ‘Webinar' filter button, and choosing ‘Archived’.

  2. Now click on 'View details' on your archived webinar and choose 'Delete webinar'.

  3. Confirm the popup.

  4. Your webinar has been deleted entirely!
